Brigadier General David S. Chamberlain:

Brigadier General David S. Chamberlain is deputy chief of staff for civil engineering at Headquarters Pacific Air Forces, Hickam Air Force Base, Hawaii. In this position he is responsible for all Air Force civil engineering programs and activities for the command.
General Chamberlain was born in Akron, Ohio, in 1921. He began his military career in 1939 as a private in the U.S. Army Infantry and graduated from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, N.Y., in June 1943, receiving a bachelor of science degree.
From the time of graduation from West Point until 1946, General Chamberlain served as the resident and area engineer in charge of construction of airfields in the China-Burma-India Theater of Operations.
General Chamberlain was assigned to the Army Corps of Engineers from 1943 until 1950. He attended the University of Ill., from which he earned a master of science degree in civil engineering in 1947. He later earned a master of science degree in business administration from The George Washington University.
He was assigned to U.S. Air Force Headquarters with the Civil Engineering Air Staff from 1950 to 1954. He then went to Europe where he served as deputy for the Construction Operations Division at Headquarters U.S. Air Forces in Europe until he went to South Ruislip Air Station, England, in December 1954 to serve as director of construction management for Headquarters Third Air Force.
Returning to the United States in 1957, General Chamberlain was designated as Chief, Titan ICBM Facilities Design, with the Air Force Systems Command at Inglewood, Calif. In 1961 he went to Hanscom Field, Mass., where he was Civil Engineer for the Air Force Electronic Systems Division. General Chamberlain moved to Andrews Air Force Base, Md., in 1964, as Director of Civil Engineering for the Air Force Systems Command.
General Chamberlain left for Vietnam in 1966 where he was Resident Engineer in charge of construction for the building of Tuy Hoa Air Base. In 1967 he was assigned to Headquarters Tactical Air Command, Langley Air Force Base, Va., as deputy chief of staff for civil engineering.
In July 1969, General Chamberlain assumed duty as deputy chief of staff for civil engineering, Pacific Air Forces at Hickam Air Force Base, Hawaii.
