Rear Admiral Ann DeBaets Gilbride:

Rear Admiral Gilbride graduated from the University of San Diego and was commissioned through Officer Candidate School in Newport, R.I., in 1978.
During her seven years of active duty, Rear Adm. Gilbride served as Ship's Boatswain, Auxiliaries Officer, and Operations Officer aboard USS Frank Cable. She is a plank owner who qualified as a Surface Warfare Officer and Engineering Officer of the Watch. After her sea tour, she was assigned to the Fleet Ocean Surveillance Information Center, CINCUSNAVEUR, London, England, as the Soviet Submarine Analyst.
Following release from active duty, Rear Adm. Gilbride drilled with FIRSTEURLANT 0191 in South Weymouth, Mass., in the Imagery and Training Departments. In 1987, after moving to Washington, D.C., to attend law school, she joined Fleet Ocean Surveillance Information Center, Europe 0166 as the Operations Officer and then Executive Officer. She managed the Naval Reserve Linguist Program in Naval Intelligence Command 0166, and then served as Executive Officer of Office of Naval Intelligence 0166, and Director of the Basic Reserve Intelligence Training School in Reserve Intelligence Area Nineteen.
Rear Admiral Gilbride has commanded four naval and joint reserve intelligence units: Fleet Air Keflavik 1066, Office of Naval Intelligence Surface and Coastal Warfare 1566, Defense Intelligence Agency Headquarters 0466, and the Joint Chiefs of Staff/J2, Joint Reserve Intelligence Unit. She also served as Commander, Reserve Intelligence Area Fifteen, in Norfolk, Va.
Her military decorations include the Defense Superior Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (second award), Navy Commendation Medal (second award), and Navy Achievement Medal (second award).
She received her Master of Arts degree in Management from Webster University in 1983 and her Juris Doctor from Georgetown University Law Center in 1990. She is an attorney and member of the Bar in New Jersey, Maryland, and Washington, D.C.
