Rear Admiral Bruce B. Engelhardt:

Rear Admiral Bruce B. Engelhardt from Apple Valley, Calif., graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy with a Bachelor of Science degree in physics. After nuclear power and submarine training, he served on submarines in the Atlantic and Pacific Fleets including; USS Bergall (SSN 667), USS George Washington (SSBN 598)(GOLD) and USS Guardfish (SSN 612).
Rear Admiral Engelhardt commanded the fast attack submarine USS Drum (SSN 677), served as Commander Submarine Squadron 7, and Commander, Submarine Group 9 in Bangor Wash.
His shore duty assignments include: Deputy Director Submarine Warfare Division, Chief of Naval Operations; Staff Assistant for Submarines to the Assistant Secretary of the Navy (Research, Development and Acquisition); Combat Systems Section Head in the Attack Submarine Branch, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations; Deputy Director of the Investment Division and Assistant Director, Navy Budget Office; Chief, Program and Budget Analysis Division, Deputy Director for Resources and Requirements and the Joint Staff (J-8).
Rear Admiral Engelhardt received his Master of Science degree in Systems Management from the University of Southern California. He is a graduate of the John F. Kennedy School of Government Senior Executive Fellows program at Harvard University. Rear Admiral Engelhardt is currently serving as Director, Office of Budget in the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Navy (Financial Management/Comptroller) and Director, Fiscal Management Division in the Office of the Chief of Naval Operations. He is authorized to wear the Navy Distinguished Service Medal, Defense Superior Service medal, Legion of Merit (4 Awards) and the Navy Unit Commendation in addition to several other personal and unit awards.
