Rear Admiral Noel G. Preston:

Position: Director, Navy Europe Programs, Resources and Support U.S. Naval Forces, Europe - Sixth Fleet
Rear Admiral Noel G. Preston graduated from the University of South Carolina NROTC program in 1970 and attended the Naval Justice School in Newport, R.I. He subsequently reported to NAS Pensacola and was designated a Naval Aviator in October 1971.
Rear Adm. Preston's active duty assignments included NAF Sigonella, Sicily; several overseas deployments with Helicopter Combat Support Squadron Six (HC 6); and Helicopter Combat Support Squadron Sixteen (HC 16).
Rear Adm. Preston affiliated with the Naval Reserve in 1979. He commanded Helicopter Antisubmarine Squadron One Five Three Five (HS 1535), Helicopter Antisubmarine Squadron Seventy-Five(HS 75), VTU 0881, NR ABFC FMP MMF A, and NR COMUSNAVCENT 108.
Other assignments include: Commander, Fleet Air Keflavik; Deputy Director of Naval Reserve (CNO); Head, Aircraft Carriers Programs Branch (CNO) and Head, Aviation Manpower and Training Programs Branch (CNO); Special Assistant for Financial Management to Commander, U.S. Naval Forces Central Command; Instructor at the Navy Command Leadership School; Assistant Chief of Staff, Operations/Training in NR COMSEVENTHFLT 111; and member of the Secretary of the Navy's National Naval Reserve Policy Board.
Rear Adm. Prestonís Joint assignments include: Commander, Iceland Defense Force; Commander, Island Command Iceland; Chief of Staff, Joint Command Lisbon; two tours as Deputy Commander, Joint Task Force Southwest Asia (Operation Southern Watch); Navy Special Assistant to the Supreme Allied Commander Europe (SACEUR)/CINCEUR; Deputy Director (Reserve), Plans and Policy, U.S. Central Command; Deputy Director (Reserve), Operations, U.S. Central Command for Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom.
Rear Adm. Preston reported to Commander, U.S. Naval Forces Europe-Sixth Fleet in September 2004 and is assigned as the Director, Navy Europe Programs, Resources and Support.
Rear Adm. Prestonís personal decorations include the Legion of Merit (three awards), the Defense Meritorious Service Medal (three awards), and the Meritorious Service Medal (three awards). He earned a BS in Biology from the University of South Carolina and his MBA in Accounting from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton Business School.
