Rear Admiral Reubin B. Bookert:

Rear Adm. Bookert reported to his first fleet assignment in March 1976 as Communications Officer in USS Truett (FF 1095). Subsequent sea tours include the staff of Commander Destroyer Squadron Twenty-Four as Communications Officer, Weapons Officer in USS Joseph Hewes (FF 1078), Operations Officer in USS Lamoure County (LST 1194) and Executive Officer in USS Blakely (FF 1072). His command at sea tours include USS Lamoure County (LST 1194) and the amphibious assault ship USS Kearsarge (LHD 3).
Ashore, he served at Navy Recruiting District, Atlanta, Ga., and United States Special Operations Command, MacDill AFB, Fla. In July 1995, he assumed duties as Special Assistant to the Chief of Naval Personnel and Director, Professional Relationship Division, (PERS-61) in the Bureau of Naval Personnel. Other shore assignments include Special Assistant to the Chief of Naval Operations, Head, Amphibious Warfare Branch (OPNAV N753), and Deputy Director, Expeditionary Warfare Division (OPNAV N75B). Rear Adm. Bookert reported to his current assignment in August 2003.
Rear Adm. Bookert's personal decorations include the Legion of Merit (with gold star), the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal (with two gold stars), the Navy Commendation Medal, the Joint Service Achievement Medal (with oak leaf cluster), as well as the Navy Battle "E" Ribbon and various other unit and service awards.
