Vice Admiral H. G. Ulrich III:

Vice Admiral Harry Ulrich entered the U.S. Naval Academy from his hometown of Southampton, Pa., and graduated with the Class of ’72 with a Bachelor of Science degree.
He has eight sea tours with units of the Atlantic Fleet during which he made nine deployments to South America, West Africa, Northern and Southern Europe, and the Persian Gulf. His most recent tour at sea was as Commander, Destroyer Group Twelve and Enterprise Battle Group from August 1999 to September 2001.
Between tours at sea, Vice Adm. Ulrich earned a Master of Science degree in physics, studied national security policy at the National War College, and has served on the staff of the Chief of Naval Operations, on the Atlantic Fleet Staff, and on the Joint Staff.
Prior to his current assignment, Vice Adm. Ulrich led the revolution in Navy training as Commander Task Force EXCEL until August 2002, and next served on the staff of the Chief of Naval Operations as the Director, Surface Warfare Division (N76).
He assumed command of U.S. Sixth Fleet and Naval Striking and Support Forces, Southern Europe November 4, 2003. Vice Admiral Ulrich also assumed command of NATO’s Joint Command Lisbon in March 2004.
